I just came home with a load of groceries, but I thought to check the receipt in case, since it seemed high. Turns out a code was entered wrong to reflect a case of fruit instead of a weighed bag. I called and took the bag plus the receipt back and all was adjusted.
I noticed various times on different receipts that a sale price was not applied. While in the store I could get it corrected and sometimes they would need to reprogram the registers to reflect the sale price (so, others before me were charged with a non-sale price). Other times I took the receipt and a photo of the sale ad price to the store to get a refund.
Always look at the conveyor belt and drop off area to make sure everything is picked up, leaving none of your items out of the bags. Sometimes, a supplement bottle rolls under the credit card reader, and I have called the store when it wasn’t in my bag, and they still have it, or I need to come in with the receipt (because they likely bagged it into another customer’s bag).
Look at your receipts to make sure the prices you thought are what you paid. Do this immediately, preferably before leaving the store (so you don’t have to make a trip back, especially if the store doesn’t believe you).
